Kính lạy Đức Chúa Trời: Con cảm ơn Chúa đã dạy con điều Chúa sẽ làm cho dân sự Chúa khi Ngài không lìa bỏ họ: ấy là Chúa dẫn đường trong sự mù lòa của họ; Chúa dắt họ vào lối đi họ chẳng quen biết; Chúa rọi ánh sáng vào trong chỗ tối tăm của họ; Chúa làm đất đai bằng phẳng khi họ cứ bươn chân vào chốn gập ghềnh (Ê-sa 42:16). Con cảm ơn Chúa đã không lìa bỏ con khi con làm việc sai lầm không chịu nghe Ngài dạy. Con cảm ơn Chúa Giê-su đã đem con đến điểm này để nhắc con về lời Chúa dạy rằng vì cớ sự sai trật của con, và của nhân loại, mà Chúa đã bị Cha Ngài lìa bỏ Ngài (Mát-thi-ơ 27:46). Lạy Chúa! Xin giúp con thực hành điều con học được hôm nay trong khi con sống động trong ngày này: rằng con sẽ tin cậy Chúa khi Chúa nói rằng Chúa sẽ không lìa bỏ con đâu. Con tin cậy Ngài bởi vì Ngài đã từng bị lìa bỏ. Lạy Chúa! Con xin rẳng ai đó đang cảm thấy mình bị lạc lõng, cô đơn, ruồng bỏ, sẽ chạy đến với Ngài để nhận hưởng sự an ủi chân thật. Hôm nay. Amen

Dear Lord God: I thank You for teaching me about what You do when You do not forsake Your people: You lead them in their blindness; You show them pathways in their ignorance; You give them light in their darkness; You make the ground level when they keep venturing into rough places (Isaiah 42:16). I thank You for not forsaking me when I was wrong not listening to Your instruction. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me of Your teaching that for my wrong, and the wrong of humanity, You were forsaken by the Father (Matt 27:46). O Lord! Please help me to put this learning into my living today so that I will trust You when You say You will not forsake me. May I do this knowing You Yourself had been forsaken. O Lord! I pray that someone feeling lonely and forsaken would run to You for true comfort. Today. Amen

Cám ơn Chúa, Ngài đã ban đức tin cho con nơi Ngài để thành tâm tin cậy vào từng lời Ngài hứa (Ê sai 49:15). Vâng, xin thêm lên niềm tin cậy cho con để con được vững lòng, bước theo Chúa mỗi ngày! Amen!

Question #517 What does the Bible teach about the meaning of "forsake?"
Answer to Question #517: To forsake is to quit or to leave entirely; to desert; to abandon; to depart from; to renounce; to reject.
There are many examples in the Bible where the children of God were urged not to forsake Him. If they obeyed, they received a great reward. Severe consequences would fall on them should they forsake Him.
In the first example in the Bible God created Adam and Eve as good, but sin broke their ability to love and obey God. While they were forsaken by God, the plan of salvation began in Genesis 3:15 - when God said to Satan, "I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.”
In another example, one reads in Psalm 22:1a - "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" David was obviously enduring some great trial. He gave an amazingly accurate description of the suffering the Messiah would endure hundreds of years later. How painful to be forsaken, to be abandoned by God!
In Joshuah 22:3 - "You have not forsaken your brothers these many days, down to this day, but have been careful to keep the charge of the Lord your God."
In Joshuah 24:20 one reads, "If you forsake the Lord and serve foreign gods, then he will turn and do you harm and consume you, after having done you good.”
Joshua 24:16 says, Then the people answered, “Far be it from us that we should forsake the Lord to serve other gods,"
In Hebrews 13:15 we are instructed to: "Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you.'”
Dear loving, kind, merciful Heavenly Father, we thank you for your Word. Your word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. We thank you for your Son Jesus' sacrifice on our behalf.
