Kính lạy Đức Chúa Trời: Con cảm ơn Chúa đã nhắc nhở con rằng những cái tên ở trên là tên của 3 trong số 12 chi phái của Y-sơ-ra-ên trong đó Ma-na-se và Ép-ra-him là 2 con trai của Giô-sép, con của Gia-cốp. Con cảm ơn Chúa Ngài rất thành tín với lời hứa của Ngài cho dân sự của Ngài rằng sẽ lấy tên họ gọi họ. Chúa cũng tuyên xưng rằng, "họ thuộc về Ta." (Ê-sa 43:1). Con cảm ơn Chúa Giê-su đã đem con đến điểm này để nhắc con về lời Chúa dạy rằng Chúa biết chiên Ngài một cách rất cá nhân và Ngài gọi chiên Ngài bằng tên của chúng (Giăng 10:1-3). Lạy Chúa! Xin giúp con biết áp dụng bài học này vào trong lối sống của con hôm nay để con được bình tâm khi biết rằng Chúa biết con rất rõ và Ngài đang đi với con thật rất gần kề trong cuộc đời này. Con cũng cầu xin cho người nào đó có thể lắm đang cảm thấy bị bỏ mặc, cô đơn hay là bị quên lãng hãy tìm đến với Ngài--Đấng chăn chiên hiền lành--để được an ủi rằng mình là của riêng trân quí của Chúa. Amen

* Question #539: Who were Manasseh, Ephraim and Judah? What was the significance of this kind of calling from God?
IV. Application
Dear Lord God: I thank You for reminding me that these were the 3 names among the names of the 12 tribes of Israel with Manasseh and Ephraim being the sons of Joseph, the son of Jacob. I thank You for being faithful to the promise made to Your people in that You would call them by their names. You also claimed them, "they are mine." (Is. 43:1). I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me of Your teaching about You knowing Your sheep personally--You call them by names (John 10:1-3). O Lord! Please help put this learning into my living today to be at peace because You know me so well and are walking with me very closely in this life. I also pray for someone who may be feeling abandoned or lonesome or forgotten to come to You--the good shepherd--to be comforted by the fact that she or he is Yours very preciously. Amen

Cám ơn Chúa, vì con thuộc về Chúa và Ngài luôn ở cùng con (Mat 28:20), Con vững tin như thế vì trải bao giông tố cuộc đời, con vẫn bình an trong tay Chúa và luôn trông đợi Ngài, hầu nhận được sức mới (Ê sai 40: 31), sống tiếp những ngày trời trên đất thấp nầy. Con cúi đầu cám ơn Chúa, vì con được là "của riêng" Ngài. Xin cho điều nầy đến với nhiều người qua hồng ân cứu rỗi của Ngài. Xin cho con không mõi mệt về sự làm lành hầu đem ơn ích cho nhiều người trong lúc Ngài còn cho con sống động trên cỏi tạm nầy (Gal 6:9).Amen!
ReplyDeleteAnswer to Question #539: The Bible teaches that Manasseh and Ephraim were sons of Joseph who were adopted by Jacob as his own sons on an equal status with Reuben and Simeon, Jacob's first and second sons whose mother was Leah. Thus, instead of Ephraim and Manassah being just two branches of one tribe, they became two fully recognized tribes in Israel and Joseph's name was dropped. Judah was Jacob's fourth son whose mother was also Leah. In the time of David, Manasseh and Ephraim were cities in Israel and Judah was a territory of Israel. The significance of this kind of calling from God in this Psalm is that God claimed these cities and territory as His and used the people to fight against the surrounding enemy territories. The most important result is that Jesus came from the line of Judah. There are many Old Testament prophecies that foretell the Savior of the world from Judah:
ReplyDeleteGenesis 49:10 - The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, until tribute comes to him; and to him shall be the obedience of the peoples.
2 Samuel 7:14 - I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son. When he commits iniquity, I will discipline him with the rod of men, with the stripes of the sons of men.
Hosea 5:14a - For I will be like a lion to Ephraim, and like a young lion to the house of Judah.
Micah 5:2 - But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days.
And from the New Testament we see the Old Testament prophecy being fulfilled:
Matthew 2:6 - And you, O Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for from you shall come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.
And from the Book of Revelation we see the completion of the prophecy of the coming Messiah: Revelation 5:5 - And one of the elders said to me, “Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.”
Dear Precious, Holy, Merciful, Loving, Kind, Foretelling, Saving Heavenly Father,
We thank you for revealing in our Psalm today the prophecy of the coming of your Redeeming Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
